It’s time to take out your ruler! If you have less than 16 inches of insulation in your attic, you could use more. To minimize heat loss, attic insulation should be between 16” and 19” (in R50-55 range). R60 is required in Labrador.
Insulating your attic or basement is a great investment. takeCHARGE rebates cover 75% of attic and basement insulation costs up to $2,000, and that’s just where the savings start. A properly insulated attic can save you $250† per year, and a properly insulated basement can save you $740† in annual savings.
Just imagine what you could do with $990† in savings…

Thinking About Hiring an Installer?
You may choose to make insulating your attic or basement a DIY project, or you may prefer to hire an installer. If you have chosen spray foam insulation for your project, it must be installed by a certified professional installer to be eligible for a rebate. If you’d like some professional help, we have a list of installers by area here.
In addition to installing insulation, installers can provide the answers you will need to get started—like how much insulation you’ll need and what type works best for your project.
Please remember that takeCHARGE rebates cover the cost of insulation, not labour or other material costs.
Applying for a Rebate
Once you have completed the project, you can apply for a takeCHARGE rebate to cover 75% of the cost of insulation up to $1,000 for attic insulation and $1,000 for basement insulation.
All the information you’ll need to apply for a rebate can be found here. Stop missing out on savings and get started today.
