Home Energy Reports give you new insight into your home’s electricity use. The reports will help you understand changes in your usage over time, as well as how you compare to similar homes in your area. They will also include practical tips on how to save energy moving forward.

Why am I receiving this report?
Congrats! You have been randomly selected to take part in our new takeCHARGE program. Newfoundland Power and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro is providing Home Energy Reports by mail and email to a selection of customers. Your report will be delivered by mail up to six times per year. Most reports will be sent during the heating season when you have the biggest opportunity to save energy. If your family, friends or neighbours did not receive a paper report and want to learn more about their electricity use we’ve got them covered too. All customers can log into TakeChargeNL.ca/MyHome to get detailed information about how their home uses electricity and personalized energy saving advice.Why wasn’t I selected to receive a Home Energy Report?

Your household’s usage is compared to similar homes in the area based on details such as home age and heating fuel. Complete your home profile at TakeChargeNL.ca/MyHome to ensure that we have the most up to date information about your home and are giving you the most relevant comparison information and energy saving advice.I notice my electricity use is shown in kWh. What is a kWh?
A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a universal unit of measure for electricity use. One 100-watt incandescent light bulb left on for 10 hours consumes one kWh of electricity (100 watts x 10 hours = 1,000 watt-hours = 1 kWh).Is my home’s electricity information being shared with other customers?
No. These reports are for your use alone. All of the comparison information, including yours, is compiled anonymously to create your report. Your specific information and home characteristics are not shared with others.What if I have more questions or want to correct my household data?
