Offered through Newfoundland and Labrador Housing, REEP is designed to assist low-income households in making energy efficient retrofits to their homes. Owners of single, row and semi-detached housing may be eligible for a grant up to $3,000 per unit on the island and $4,000 per unit in Labrador. In addition, funding is provided for the completion of a pre and post-energy inspection of the home.
A 10% CMHC mortgage loan insurance premium refund, and a premium refund for a longer amortization period (if applicable) may be available when you use CMHC insured financing to purchase an energy-efficient home or make energy-saving renovations.
The Home Heating Rebate is available to residents of the province whose adjusted family income in 2013 was $40,000 or less and have directly incurred costs to heat their home. Information on the Home Heating Rebate program can be found on the Department of Finance website or by contacting the department toll-free at 1-877-745-1339 or by email at email@example.com.
