Rewards That Pay
Newfoundland Power customers who sign up and participate can earn up to $140 in rewards:
Sign-Up Incentives: Get rewarded just for enrolling. Earn $25 per Mysa thermostat up to a maximum of $100.
Participation Bonus: Stay active and earn more. Earn $40 for participating in at least 50% of peak events called over the 4-month pilot season. The pilot will run across two winter periods: 2025–2026 and 2026–2027. Your thermostat adjusts automatically while you stay comfortable.
Plus: You may qualify for a free home energy monitor and installation – valued at $1,000.

How to Apply
Already have Mysa thermostats? Complete Mysa in-app pre-enrollment here.
Need to install Mysa thermostats? Purchase on the Mysa website and enjoy a $20 instant rebate per thermostat — plus, unlock extra savings with bundle discounts. Your purchase also includes automatic enrollment!
Alternatively, you can purchase the Mysa Lite 4-pack from Costco (available online and in-store), install them in your primary residence, and pre-enroll through the Mysa app.

How It Works
During winter months peak events will occur when electricity demand is high.
Here’s what to expect:
1. Notification: During a peak event, your Mysa app will display “Demand response in progress.” Want to know when peak events typically occur? Check out our FAQs for more details.
2. Temperature Adjustment: Your thermostat will automatically reduce its setpoint by 1–4°C for up to 3 hours. To ensure comfort, some events may include a pre-heat period. In these cases, your thermostat will automatically increase its setpoint by 1–2°C for up to 60 minutes.
Note: During pre-heating, your Mysa app will display the same messaging as peak events, “Demand response in progress.”
3. Opt-Out Anytime: You can opt out by adjusting the temperature on your thermostat during an event.
4. Return to Normal: Your thermostat will revert to its original setting after the event.
Enhanced Participation
A small group of participants will be selected for enhanced pilot participation. These homes will have a free whole home energy monitor installed at no cost by a certified installer. These energy monitors provide the pilot with enhanced energy usage data.
At the conclusion of the pilot, the monitors’ data sharing with the pilot will end, and the monitor can be kept by the participants.
Eligibility
To enroll in the program, you must:
- Have an active Newfoundland Power account for your primary residence;
- Have electric baseboard heat as your primary heating source;
- Have Mysa smart thermostats version 1, version 2 or Lite installed in your primary residence; purchase Mysa smart thermostats here or at Costco (online and instore) and install them in your primary residence prior to January 6, 2026;
- Mysa smart thermostats must be connected to your primary residence Wi-Fi and connection must stay ACTIVE for the duration of the pilot program.
- Be willing to accept a home energy monitor installed for the course of the pilot. (If selected).
