Energy Efficiency lights up the court!

CE23 Basketball Academy partnered with takeCHARGE, got a rebate of almost $9,000 and is saving approximately $10,000 annually on electricity costs.

Located in Paradise, NL, CE23 is committed to the development and progress of youth basketball in Newfoundland and Labrador. Their goal is to teach essential skills, a strong work ethic and ultimately instill a true love of the game. By providing a fun, positive and yet challenging environment, the aim is to maximize the opportunities for athletes to thrive and succeed.

CE23 installed six mini-split heat pumps in their gym. The mini-split heat pumps replaced six industrial fan forced electric resistance heaters. They also installed LED high bay lighting throughout the gymnasium and LED Wall Packs around the building exterior. These lighting upgrades provide improved lighting quality, reduced maintenance costs and lower monthly electricity costs. “With the takeCHARGE program, not only did we get a rebate of almost $9,000, but we’re also saving $10,000 a year in electricity costs said Carl English, owner of CE23 Basketball Academy. The takeCHARGE team worked closely with us and helped us find the best ways to save energy and money,” adds English.
