Here at TakeCharge, we believe that deserves to be celebrated! The Luminary Awards recognize companies, organizations, communities, and individuals all across Newfoundland and Labrador who are taking brilliant steps to use energy wisely – and inspiring others to do the same.

Community Impact Award
Community Impact Award
The Community Impact Award recognizes a municipality, city, town, community group, or non-profit organization in Newfoundland and Labrador that has made a meaningful impact in its community through energy-efficient projects or initiatives that support, educate, and empower residents to save energy and take action.
What Qualifies:
• Upgrading community buildings or communal areas to be more energy efficient.
• Helping residents adopt energy-saving technologies.
• Running campaigns or programs that encourage energy-efficient solutions.
• Demonstrating measurable impact in reducing energy use within the community.
Sustained Excellence Award
Sustained Excellence Award
The Sustained Excellence Award recognizes an individual, business, organization, or not-for-profit that has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to energy efficiency through consistent achievements, measurable results, and ongoing efforts to reduce energy consumption, fostering a culture of sustainability.
What Qualifies:
• Demonstrating a long-term commitment to advancing energy efficiency through ongoing initiatives.
• Achieving measurable results through sustained energy-saving initiatives.
• Integrating energy-efficient practices into operations or projects over time.
• Creating lasting impact by reducing energy use and continuously promoting a culture of energy efficiency and sustainability.
Trade Ally Champion Award
Trade Ally Champion Award
The Trade Ally Champion Award recognizes a contractor, installer, retailer, or industry professional that has actively promoted energy efficiency and helped customers adopt energy-saving technologies.
What Qualifies:
• Actively participating in and promoting TakeCharge programs.
• Educating and supporting customers in making energy-efficient choices.
• Delivering high-quality installations of energy-efficient technologies.
• Demonstrating a measurable contribution to the uptake of energy-efficient technologies.
Partnership Award
Partnership Award
The Partnership Award recognizes a TakeCharge partner that demonstrates outstanding initiative in advancing energy efficiency across Newfoundland and Labrador through the delivery of energy efficient solutions, services, outreach, education, or program support.
What Qualifies:
• Demonstrating a strong partnership with TakeCharge in advancing energy efficiency.
• Supporting energy efficiency outreach, education, promotion, or engagement.
• Helping increase awareness and adoption of energy-efficient solutions.
• Collaborating on initiatives that advance shared energy-efficiency goals.
BIG Award
BIG Award
The BIG Award recognizes a participant of the TakeCharge Business Efficiency Program that, through energy efficient upgrades, has seen the most significant increase in their energy savings. Nominations are not required for this award; the winner will be selected among program participants.
What Qualifies:
• Completing energy-efficiency upgrades through the TakeCharge Business Efficiency Program.
• Achieving significant energy savings through the implemented improvements.
• Making a strong commitment to reducing energy usage.
