ENERGY STAR^® is an international symbol that identifies the most energy efficient products in a category. ENERGY STAR^® qualified windows, doors and skylights are tested and certified for energy efficiency and air tightness. Choose ENERGY STAR^® windows and receive $2.00 cash back for each square foot of window installed.

 

To qualify for the rebate:

1. The homeowner must meet eligibility requirements.
2. The windows must be ENERGY STAR^® qualified.

 

Follow these three easy steps to savings:

 

Step 1: Complete an ENERGY STAR^® Window Rebate form

• Download and print an ENERGY STAR^® Window Rebate application form

 

Step 2: Purchase and install your ENERGY STAR^® Windows

• Visit your local window or building supply retailer and order your ENERGY STAR^® windows.
• Match the ENERGY STAR^® climate rating to your zone. The better the climate rating, the more energy efficient the window. Climate ratings best suited to Newfoundland are B, C and D.
• takeCHARGE rebates of $2.00 per square foot apply to the outside frame dimensions of the window.

 

Step 3: Submit your application and receive your rebate

• Once your windows are installed, submit your completed and signed ENERGY STAR^® Window Rebate application form to your electricity provider.
• You must also attach your original receipts for the purchase of your windows, and the manufacturers shipping form that clearly identifies the model numbers, the Low E and Argon gas status, and the frame size of each window purchased. (Customers can have their original receipt sent back to them by stating this request on the application.)
• Your electricity provider will process your rebate once you have submitted your completed application form and receipts. This may take up to eight weeks.
• If you have completed an ecoEnergy Retrofit Home Audit and you submit your pre and post installation audit reports, an inspection will not be required.

 

Sign up for additional takeCHARGE rebates. Install a programmable thermostat and get $10 cash back. Insulate your basement or attic and receive from 20 to 40 cents per square foot of insulation added.

 

Your electricity provider may visit and inspect your home at any time from the date of application until 12 months after installation. If you have completed an ecoEnergy Retrofit Home Audit and you submit your pre and post installation audit reports, an inspection will not be required.
